Agribusiness Linkages Program IFC Advisory Services in Indonesia – Baseline Survey FTC Coffee Project

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, fosters sustainable economic growth in developing countries by financing private sector investment, mobilizing private capital in local and international financial markets, and providing advisory services to businesses and governments. IFC’s vision is to assist poor people to escape poverty and improve their lives through the development of the private sector.

IFC in Indonesia aims to: reduce the impact of climate change, improve rural incomes, and promote sustainable urbanization. To achieve these objectives, IFC in Indonesia combines investment and advisory services to expand access to finance, extend the reach of infrastructure, strengthen commodity-based supply chains, and improve the business environment.

IFC’s Agribusiness Linkages program in Indonesia and its partner have commenced a project in North Sumatra to establish “Farmer Training Centre (FTC)” with purpose to encourage farmers to apply sustainable agricultural practices and to improve the quality and the yield of their production in order to increase their income.

IFC now is seeking to engage an Individual Consultant (Short-Term Contract) to assist IFC’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in conducting baseline survey for the project during the period of July to September 2009. The Consultant will be based in Jakarta, but will be required to travel to North Sumatra and Aceh during the preparation and implementation of the survey.

Individual Consultant for Baseline Survey (code: Baseline Survey)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare survey tools (questionnaire development, survey protocol);
  • Provide training to enumerators and partner lead firm staff on survey questionnaires;
  • Overall guidance to survey team, including partner lead firm on the fieldwork implementation;
  • In collaboration with local coordinators and partner lead firm to ensure that all logistics preparation and field work arrangement are properly done prior to the survey implementation;
  • Supervise the overall implementation of fieldwork;
  • Supervise and provide guidance to local coordinators and enumerators;
  • Data analysis and report writing;
  • Provide recommendations for setting-up periodic monitoring based on findings and results from the baseline;
  • Result dissemination with selected stakeholders

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated at least five years experience in managing household survey, preferably on agriculture/supply chain issues;
  • Experienced in facilitating Focus Group Discussion;
  • Strong technical capacity on quantitative data analysis using statistical softwares, e.g: SPSS;
  • Solid background in agriculture, and/or coffee supply chain, preferably in North Sumatra and/or Aceh;
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skill in English
  • Indonesian national

Employment Type: Short-Term Contract (approximately 40 effective days)

How to Answer Interview Questions

It is always hard to know how to answer interview questions and if you are not very experienced at interviews, then the whole process can seem daunting. So just how are you supposed to answer their questions?

Well the basic principle to bear in mind, whatever the interview, whether on a one to one, at a recruitment agency or for a permanent contract, is that you need to sell yourself in a way that is confident and assured, but without sounding too big headed or arrogant.

Always try to ensure that you establish eye contact with the interviewers. Try to sound confident when you answer and if you think you are about to freeze, or dry up, then just take a deep breath and remind yourself that this is not life or death, it is only an interview and then continue.

Answer questions as fully as possible, so if you are asked ‘Why should we hire you’ then don’t just say ‘Because I have all the skills and attributes required for this position’ but tell them exactly what experience you have and what your skills are. If you keep your answers too brief then you will potentially come across as disinterested and perhaps even a little vague, so expand, expand, expand.

When answering questions at interview it is always tempting to make yourself seem much more competent or experienced than you really are. But herein lies a danger, because if you lie at interview or mislead the panel, then this could well come back to haunt you. So be confident, but not overly so!

Finally always think of some good questions to ask the interview panel. These may include questions about career progression, how the company operates, what kind of tasks you will be expected to undertake or even about management style. The more original and complex your questions are, the more impressed the interviewing panel are likely to be!

Dalam rangka mengisi keanggotaan KPP yang berasal bukan dari Pegawai Negeri Sipil, Panitia Seleksi mengadakan seleksi calon anggota KPP dengan ketentuan sebagai berikut:
A. Persyaratan untuk menjadi Anggota KPP adalah:
Persyaratan Umum :
1. Warga Negara Indonesia;
2. Bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa;
3. Setia pada Pancasila dan UUD 1945;
4. tidak terlibat dalam kegiatan yang mengkhianati Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia atau terlibat organisasi terlarang;
5. Tidak pernah dipidana karena melakukan tindak pidana kejahatan;
6. Berwibawa, jujur, adil, dan berkelakuan tidak tercela; dan
7. Berumur minimal 40 (empat puluh) tahun dan paling tinggi 68 (enam puluh delapan) tahun, pada saat proses seleksi

Persyaratan Administrasi :
1. Diutamakan mempunyai kompetensi di bidang pajak pusat, bidang kepabeanan/cukai, bidang pajak daerah, dan/atau bidang pengawasan;
2. Berijazah minimal Sarjana Strata 1 atau setara;
3. Memiliki Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP), telah menyampaikan Surat Pemberitahuan Tahunan Pajak Penghasilan Orang Pribadi selama 5 (lima) tahun terakhir, dan telah melaksanakan semua kewajiban perpajakan; dan
4. Sehat jasmani dan rohani.

B. Pendaftaran Calon :
1. Pelamar yang berminat agar melakukan pendaftaran secara online di website Departemen Keuangan www.seleksikpp.depkeu.go.id atau www.depkeu.go.id dengan mengisi formulir pendaftaran, daftar riwayat hidup, dan surat pernyataan sesuai dengan format yang disediakan oleh Panitia Seleksi.
2. Pendaftaran dibuka sejak tanggal 8 Juni 2009 sampai dengan tanggal 15 Juni 2009.

C. Ketentuan/Tahapan Seleksi :
1. Panitia Seleksi melakukan seleksi terhadap pemenuhan persyaratan umum dan administrasi yang telah disampaikan oleh pendaftar secara online. Seleksi yang dilakukan oleh Panitia Seleksi untuk menentukan pendaftar yang berhak untuk mengikuti seleksi tahap berikutnya dilakukan berdasarkan tingkatan kompetensi/pengalaman dan latar belakang pendidikan pendaftar.
2. Pengumuman pendaftar yang lulus seleksi sebagaimana dimaksud pada butir 1 akan dilakukan paling lambat tanggal 25 Juni 2009 melalui website Departemen Keuangan www.seleksikpp.depkeu.go.id atau www.depkeu.go.id
3. Pendaftar yang lulus seleksi sesuai pengumuman sebagaimana tersebut butir 2, wajib menyampaikan berkas / dokumen sebagai berikut:
o Pas foto berwarna ukuran 4×6 sebanyak 3 (tiga) lembar;
o Ijazah/Sertifikat/Pengalaman Kerja bidang pajak pusat, bidang kepabeanan/cukai, bidang pajak daerah, dan/atau bidang pengawasan;
o Fotokopi ijazah asli Sarjana (S1), Pasca Sarjana (S2), dan/atau Doktor (S3) yang telah dilegalisir;
o Fotokopi Identitas Pribadi (Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP)/Surat Ijin Mengemudi (SIM)/Paspor) yang masih berlaku;
o Surat Keterangan Berbadan Sehat dari Dokter Pemerintah;
o Fotokopi Kartu Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP);
o Surat pernyataan telah menyampaikan Surat Pemberitahuan Tahunan Pajak Penghasilan Orang Pribadi selama 5 (lima) tahun terakhir, dan telah melaksanakan semua kewajiban perpajakan, yang dibuat secara benar dan jujur;
o Surat pernyataan tidak terlibat dalam kegiatan yang mengkhianati Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia atau terlibat organisasi terlarang; dan
o Surat pernyataan tidak pernah dipidana karena melakukan tindak pidana kejahatan.
4. Pendaftar yang telah lulus seleksi dan telah menyampaikan berkas/dokumen sebagaimana tersebut pada butir 3, berhak mengikuti tes wawancara.
5. Pelaksanaan wawancara bagi pendaftar yang telah lulus seleksi sebagaimana dimaksud pada butir 4, akan diberitahukan melalui surat, faksimili, e-mail, atau pengumuman.
6. Semua keputusan Panitia Seleksi tidak dapat diganggu gugat dan tidak dilakukan surat menyurat.
